How does SpotKat work?
See a cat outside? Take a photo in the app. We compare it with cats reported missing nearby. If it looks like one, the owner gets your photo with the place and time. Only the owner decides whether it is their cat.
My cat is missing. What do I do?
Open the app and tap I lost my cat. Add photos, describe your cat and mark where you saw it last. People nearby can then recognise your cat, and you get their photos. From the app you can share a link and print a poster with a QR code.

Why does SpotKat need my location?
To show lost cats near you, and so the owner knows where you saw the cat. We only use it while the app is open. The public page never shows an exact place.
Who sees my photos?
Only the owner of a lost cat your photo may show. They see the photos, where and when you took them, your note and your first name. Photos are deleted after 30 days. More in our privacy policy: spotkat.nl/en/privacy
How do points work?
- +1 for every photo of a cat we accept.
- +5 for every lost cat it looks like.
- +20 when the owner says it could be their cat.
- +100 when your photo helped bring the cat home.
Every award is paid once. Photos that break the rules lose their points.
I don't get notifications
Check that notifications for SpotKat are on in your phone's settings, and under Me in the app which alerts you want. Alerts about cats lost near your places arrive once a day, at 18:00.
SpotKat Go pass and refunds
A missing cat search needs a SpotKat Go pass: 30 days, paid once, no subscription. You pay through the App Store or Google Play, so they handle refunds: reportaproblem.apple.com for iPhone, or Order history in Google Play. Did something go wrong in the app? Email us.
My cat is home!
Great news. Tap is back home on your cat's card. The search stops, the public page says your cat is home, and you can thank the person whose photo helped.

See a fake report, an unsuitable photo or someone misusing contact details? Email [email protected] with a link or a screenshot. We look at every report.
