Terms of use

SpotKat is run by Spartak Kagramanyan, a private person in the Netherlands. Contact: [email protected].

You need to be 16 or older. You sign in with Apple or Google and keep your account to yourself. You are responsible for what happens with it.

• A photo is enough. Don't chase, catch or feed cats that are not yours, unless the owner asks you to.
• Stay on public ground. Don't go into gardens, sheds or homes to take a photo.
• Photograph the cat, not people, house numbers or the inside of homes.
• Mind the traffic and your own safety.

Photos and texts you post stay yours. You give us permission to store, adjust (for example resize) and show them for what SpotKat does: showing lost cats in public and on posters, and showing your photos to the owner of a cat they may show. The permission ends when we delete the content.

Only post things you may share, and only about real cats. Not allowed: photos without a cat, photos of people, false reports, insults, spam, advertising and anything illegal.

Photos and texts are checked automatically and by us. We may hide content that breaks these rules, and block or ban accounts. Points earned with such content are taken back. If you think we made a mistake, email us.

You earn points when your photos help. Points have no money value, can't be exchanged or transferred, and may change as the app changes.

Spotting cats is free. Putting your cat up as missing needs a SpotKat Go pass: one search of 30 days, paid once. It is not a subscription and does not renew. The price is shown in the app before you pay.

You pay through the App Store or Google Play, under their terms. The search starts right after payment. Because you ask us to start straight away, you agree that the 14-day right of withdrawal ends once the search has started. Refunds are handled by Apple (reportaproblem.apple.com) or Google Play. If something went wrong on our side, email us and we will sort it out.

We do our best to bring cats home, but we can't promise that anyone sees your cat, that a match is right or that the app is always available. Matches are suggestions; only the owner decides.

Meeting people or picking up a cat is between you and them. Meet in a public place and be careful with personal details.

As far as the law allows, we are not liable for indirect damage, and our total liability is at most what you paid us in the past 12 months. Nothing here limits rights you have as a consumer under Dutch law.

You can stop at any time by deleting your account in the app. We may end or limit your account if you break these terms.

We may change these terms. For important changes we tell you in the app before they apply. Dutch law applies. Disputes go to the competent court in the Netherlands, unless the law gives you another choice.
